General Canon: We're seven years post-AOD on Emily's side of the door, S-Mart ending (for obvious convenience).
Ash: In this continuity, after returning to the present Ash temporarily relocated to New York for a year, where he became friendly with one Barney Stinson after saving the exec's life. After returning to Michigan, kismet reunited Ash with Sheila, who insisted upon keeping a polite distance from him while establishing her own life in the modern world. But seven hundred years and maurauding Deadites couldn't keep them apart, and neither could their mutual sense of pride. They ended up lovers once again, and Ash proposed the following Christmas.
Because Sheila has a solid career track (and a budding BA in French Language), Ash willingly quit his position at the S-Mart when his wife recieved a grant to continue her studies overseas. This involved him being a stay-at home parent, to his horror.
While the Williams family lived in Europe they visited Kandarland, a museum and amusement park built on the site of Kandar Castle. During their stay, they learned that Wiseman John had followed them to the present and has been working as a Tarot card reader at the amusementg park. After letting the Wiliamses in on some intriguing news about Sheila's past, he was stabbed to death by an suddenly animate statue of the mythological Celtic goddess Agrona, and The Necronomicon, which the Wiseman had been guarding, was stolen. It turns out that the Williams' neighbors, the Smithsons, were cultists bent on sacrificing Emily to the Kandarian God of fertility, Yex'tple, and using the body of their son Jake as a vessel for the God's return to Earth. The Smithsons were no match for the spirits they managed to raise, however, and were quickly dispatched by the reanimated form of Edith Piaf, who decided to use the Nec to turn the world into a pit of suffering to better reflect her muses.
Ash and Sheila teamed up to save their children (and their babysitters, Lily and Marshall) and return France to its rightful glory. To Ash's surprise, they managed to succeed with few hiccups (and though he won't admit it, this is mostly due to Sheila's ability to remember The Three Magic Words).
On returning home from Europe, the Williams had a third child, Mary, and Sheila settled into a paid internship answering phones at the French consulate in Royal Oak. Ash has returned to his position at the S-Mart and is in the process of gathering financing for an automobile customization shop.
Backstory Note: This version of his life, Ash's father is currently incarcerated, and he became the primary caretaker of Cheryl when his mother died of cancer when he was seventeen.
Sheila: After the events of Army of Darkness, Sheila existed in limbo while Arthur decided her ultimate fate. She acted as chateline at Kandar until, purely by accident, she tumbled into a well and wound up in Ash's closet.
Sheila gradually adjusted to the modern world, getting her own apartment and developing a career for herself. She and Ash fell back into a relationship and were married within a year of her arrival.
A year after miscarrying of a son, Sheila gave birth to Emily. All of Sheila's subsequent pregnancies have been complicated by badly-healed internal injuries dealt to her during her posession (she, in fact, still bears twin scars on her stomach in the shape of Ash's heels). Jake was delivered via crash cesarian, and Mary's birth was a pre-planned cesarian. At her doctor's urging, she's stopping there, and is a little sad that her fantasy of mothering a troop of knights "with eyes of steel and coal hair" will not come to pass.
While in France, Sheila learned that she is the descendant of a powerful Druidic priest, and that her mother was pressed to death with stones on suspicion of being a witch. Her meeting with Ash was not a random event, but had been divined by the book itself, which worked to sepparate them once and for all before Sheila's blood could mix with Ash's. Neither was Sheila's arrival in the present an accidental occurance, but was effected by Wiseman John. Sheila and Ash's children, oddly, don't bear any signs of posessing awesome powers whatsoever (at least to their parents), leading Ash to dismiss Wiseman John's word as bunk.
Sheila works for the French Consulate while she persues her Masters at Michigan U.
Jake: Jake Jude is Emily's little brother, an oversized and jolly tot who's far more easygoing than his tempestuous and demanding big sister. He's only one and a half, but he's displayed conjuring powers before...and his big sister's the only one who knows about it.
Mary: Mary Elizabeth is Emily's baby sister, barely two months old when Emily discovers Milliways.
Lily Aldrin: Lily is Emily's kindergarten teacher. Little does Emily know that Lily and her father have a Secret Pass that resulted in Ash being nicknamed "the creepy drooler".
Marshall Eriksen: Lily's husband, sort of thrilled by the whole Deadite thing (which Ash streneously tries to avoid discussing with him when they're stuck in the same room together)
Tara Bull AKA Tom Carrol: Sheila's drag queen ex-roommate; Godmother to Emily.
Mrs. Graydy: Emily's first grade teacher; she doesn't like her.
